Kathy Erteman, a New York  based ceramic artist and tableware designer  makes vessels and architectural wall pieces in her Manhattan studio.

Known for reductive modern forms with graphic black and white surface carving, her current wall pieces and sculptural vessels  introduce strong neutral color and texture that  strengthen and depart from the black and white palette.

Erteman's work has been widely published in design books and periodicals that include American Craft, Ceramics Monthly, Metropolitan Home, Art Forum, Elle Décor and the New York Times. It can be found in the permanent collections of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the Renwick Gallery of the Smithsonian,  the Taipei Museum of Fine Arts as well as many private collections and has been exhibited throughout the United States,  Australia, Canada and Japan.

A part time teacher and guest lecturer, Kathy Erteman has been the recipient of a New York Foundation for the Arts grant and most recently an Ebay artist technology grant.
